SEXUAL ASSAULT SERVICES FACT SHEET

Released: January 2008

In the past fiscal year –

  1. We served 1,057 persons who are affected by sexual assault or abuse.
  2. 170 Victims received crisis victim advocacy and medical-forensic examinations.
  3. 182 Friends and Family Members of Victims were assisted by victim advocates.
  4. 67 Victims and Family Members/Friends were assisted by SAS advocates at court.
  5. 191 Children and their Family Members received specialized services at the Child Advocacy Center; CAC Services are provided to children under age 13.
  6. 373 Survivors of sexual violence received individual, group or family counseling by trained, masters-level therapists.
  7. 13 Girls and Boys attended Summer Fun Camp at Sherman Lake YMCA.
  8. Over 2,500 Youth from pre-school through high school received sexual assault prevention education and materials.
  9. 50 Trained Community Volunteers gave over 20,000 hours to assist victims at hospitals, police departments, and courts.

    10. ALL SERVICES ARE FREE OF CHARGE TO VICTIMS AND THEIR LOVED ONES.
